United Way Youth Venture (UWYV) is a three way partnership among the United Way of North Central Massachusetts, Mount Wachusett Community College and Ashoka’s Youth Venture. UWYV supports the youth of north central Massachusetts to be the cultivators of change in our community and is currently seeking proposals to serve as partners for the 2011 Fiscal Year.
Launching a Venture is a transformational experience. Participating youth state an increased level in confidence, better leadership and communication skills and in some cases, improved grades. Participating youth also have notably fewer incidences of detention and suspension.
The purpose of this Request for Proposals is to facilitate selection of the most appropriate schools and organizations to further the mission and vision of UWYV. The information contained in your proposal will be evaluated by a selection committee. Up to three partnerships will be awarded and selected partners will receive up to $5,600 to implement UWYV programming.
Funding for programs selected through this process is made possible by a federal grant from the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention.
